Dungog, Hunter Valley - Yoga in Daily Life Eco Lifestyle Retreat 

Yoga in Daily Life’s retreat property is located in a pristine environment on 640 acres just outside the rural township of Dungog, 3 hours drive/train north of Sydney. The property presently offers acres of undulating, native bush with an abundance of Australian flora and fauna at an elevation of 500m above sea level, with expansive 280 degree views.

 We are still in the early stages of developing our vision of a sustainable Meditation & Yoga Retreat, multi-purpose Function Centre and Wildlife Refuge. To date there is a magnificent wooden platform upon which to practice sunrise and sunset meditation & yoga exercises whilst overlooking panoramic views of endless blue-green hills and changeable skies. 

Australia-wide our not-for-profit organisation is supported and managed by volunteers and currently at Dungog we are clearing lantana and re-growth scrub, and slashing fields (thank goodness for ride-on mowers & tractors!). Development plans will soon be submitted to Council after which there will be more specific jobs as we construct and build our vision.

 

Right now we seek volunteers who would like to contribute their positive energy, enthusiasm and skills for the establishment of a grand vision! Many of the tasks do not require specific skills – just a willingness to get involved, therefore everyone is welcome to help in the creation of Dungog Yoga in Daily Life Eco Lifestyle Retreat.

If you enjoy being in nature, living in simplicity and roughing it then this experience is for you. The property is large and not easily accessible so we generally coordinate volunteers coming to the property whenever a team drives up from Sydney.

Visitors to the property are requested to follow the principles of a yoga lifestyle which prohibits the following: alcohol, cigarettes, recreational drugs, meat, seafood, eggs and weapons of any kind.
