Everything you need to know is held inside of you

Bandhas are energy locks that influence internal energy flow; interlocking and interconnecting internal systems and energy channels. There are 72,000 energy channels or Nadis in the body. Where several Nadis form a junction a wheel of energy is formed called a Chakra. There are 8 main Chakras located along the length of the spine to the top of the head. Mula Bandha stimulates the energy of the Muladhara Chakra, located at the base of the coccyx.

Yoga and Menopause PDF  | Print |
Written by Sevadevi

From my personal experience I found the symptoms of menopause were mild and manageable. I had been practicing Yoga regularly for 10 years before reaching this time of life and was fully established in the practise of asanas, pranayama and meditation. I understand that I was the fortunate one and there is real suffering for many women at this time including bouts of depression, hot flushes, fatigue, night sweats and anxiety. Your yoga practice during menopause is an empowering life tool for you to focus on the positive to manage and control menopausal symptoms. Think of your symptoms as a burning of old energies to make way for the new, a tapas, an inner purification process.

Practising Yoga During Menstruation PDF  | Print |

The following exercises may be beneficial during menstruation (from the book Yoga in Daily Life by Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda).

New website re-launched Print E-mail

After just two weeks with the new Yoga in Daily Life website up and running it came crashing down on 27th Feb when our web server crashed with a hardware failure. Our best efforts were thwarted to get the website restored and running again with the news that our host provider's backup system failed last Novemeber (before most work on the new site was done), anyway to cut a long story short we got our site back after data recovery was done on the hard disks of the crashed server - this was in the third week of March.
We had our site up and running for about 3 hours when our host providers server was hacked and our site along with hundreds of others on that server was no more. But not giving up that easily we changed host providers, restored our old site on the new server and begain work on restoring the new site. On 12th April we crossed our fingers and touched wood and re-launched the new site for the third time!

Apologies to to all for the disruption of service.
