Print E-mail
ImageYoga in Daily Life worldwide reaffirms 2nd October the International Day of Non-Violence as declared by the United Nations, by taking part in actions initiated by H.H. Vishwaguru Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. On this day gatherings are organised all over the world by Yoga in Daily Life, including planting of trees, gatherings for prayers and minute’s of silence in yoga classes – all dedicated to a world of peace, not a world in pieces. At the international event Dialogues on World Peace, in his keynote address H.H. Vishwaguru Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda said, "Violence can be physical but can also be in mental, social or political form. Iit can target not only humans but also animals and the entire creation. Humans are born to protect and not to destroy; therefore we should decide and promise to ourselves today that no creature will suffer any more because of us. If we cannot dry somebody’s tears we should at least not be the cause for them.” Read more about this historic event and view footage.
The International Day of Non-Violence is inspired by and marks the birth date of, one of the world’s leading voices, Mahatma Gandhi who said, “Non-violence, is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind.”
