Annandale Yoga in Daily Life Ashram Sydney

 

Welcome to the national centre of the Australian branch of Yoga in Daily Life - also known as Mahaprabhu Deep Ashram - located in the Sydney suburb of Annandale.

The ashram has been serving suburbs of the Inner West (including Leichhardt, Dulwich Hill, Glebe, Stanmore, Lilyfield, Balmain, Homebush, Ashfield, St Peters, Camperdown, Forest Lodge) since 1996 and is renowned for its two spacious, peaceful, light-filled and air-conditioned yoga rooms - sacred spaces designed to support the journey of going within - as well as a new relaxing Tea Room where you can help yourself to a hot cup of tea and maybe some homemade sweet nibblies, peruse the many inspiring and informative books, meet and chat with fellow students, or just sit and relax peacefully with yourself...

Yoga in Daily Life® is a not-for-profit yoga organisation and the ashram at Annandale is staffed entirely by volunteers, with our experienced and qualified yoga instructors dedicated to sharing the benefits of yoga and meditation with the wider-community - our creed is Harmony for Body Mind & Soul.

  

CLASSES

We offer classes in yoga, relaxation and meditation six days a week at Annandale, following the internationally renowned system of Yoga in Daily Life ® and we look forward to sharing the joys and benefits of yoga in all its forms here with you soon.

  • Courses must be booked before commencement date.
  • Drop-in Classes can be attended without pre-booking - please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your first class to register.  
  • Yoga mats, blankets and cushions are provided - but you're welcome to bring along and use your own mat.
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing.
  • No eating for 2-3 hours before class (soup or fruit is ok).

SIMPLY BIRTHING

 

We are rather excited to announce and very happy to welcome a new tenant in our downstairs room: Simply Birthing Yoga, Education & Support Services will be offering choice and support for women of Sydney’s Inner West with natural health and wellbeing services particularly for mothers and their families.


Initial Simply Birthing classes such as Pre Natal Yoga, Post Natal Yoga, Women's Yoga & Health, and Mums & Bubs, will start from January 2012 and are included in our timetable below - marked with a blue bar. There are also times set aside for informal social discussion "circles" on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

This new endeavour will be run by our own long serving volunteer YIDL teacher, Jenny Daya Schellhorn, who has been teaching Pre Natal and Mums & Bubs Yoga classes for many years, as well as regular YIDL classes and courses, in our YIDL centres in and around Sydney and Melbourne.

We congratulate Jenny on this expansion of services and look forward to accommodating more programmes designated for women plus their children and partners, in our much loved premises here in Annandale.

Yoga in Daily Life ® is a not-for-profit yoga organisation dedicated to sharing the benefits of yoga and meditation with the wider-community.
The Yoga in Daily Life System is an authentic and holistic system of yoga practices which includes physical exercises, breathing, relaxation and meditation. Yoga in Daily Life was designed by H.H. Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda to progressively prepare the body and mind, starting with simple exercises that gradually lead to the more advanced. Regular yoga classes and courses are held throughout the year with themes such as Beginner's Yoga, Yoga for Back & Neck Care, Prenatal Yoga, Meditation and Yoga Philosophy, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Depression and Yoga Teacher Training. We also host regular weekend Yoga Retreats in nature venues and offer yoga & meditation classes for corporate and community groups.

90 min. classes: $18 / $12 conc.

60 min. classes: $15 / $10 conc.

Community Yoga and Seniors Class: $5

 

Pay in Advance

new Monthly Pass: $90 / $60 conc. (unlimited classes per calendar month, by Periodical Payment)

12 Class Pass: $200 / $133 conc. (valid up to 4 months)

Simply Birthing "Mums Pass": $108 / $90 conc. (6 classes, valid up to 3 months for any Simply Birthing classes)
